Osram infrared new main industrial lighting (Figure)

Infrared OSTAR Lighting can be used with a wide range of commercially available lenses to meet any lighting needs. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors introduces infrared OSTAR Lighting with six powerful thin film chips and a hemispherical lens capable of operating at 1 A. Produces 3.5 W of optical output power and can be used with a variety of standard secondary optics components on the market to produce different beam angles and radiant intensities. This high-power component features a hexagonal honeycomb design that integrates multiple infrared LEDs to form a large matrix, which saves space and doubles output power. This product is mainly used in industrial lighting for camera monitoring systems such as closed circuit television (CCTV) and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

Infrared OSTAR Lighting LEDs are available in two wavelengths: SFH4750 and SFH4751. With a wavelength of 850 nm, the SFH4750 version provides the best spectral sensitivity for CCD and CMOS cameras for minimal macro visibility. The SFH4751 version has a wavelength of 940 nm and is barely detectable by the naked eye, so it can be used where the visible light source is not allowed. Harry Feltges, Marketing Manager for Infrared Components at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Germany, said: "We are able to bring infrared OSTAR Lighting products to market quickly because we have integrated several technologies to achieve synergy during the product development phase. The package is identical to our best-selling white OSTAR Lighting, so customers can use the relevant thermal and mechanical design.

Both versions of the infrared OSTAR Lighting products have excellent light output efficiency and are ideal for industrial lighting component applications in CCTV surveillance systems. Such monitoring systems are often used to enhance the safety of public places such as streets, train stations, airports and schools, as well as to protect museum exhibits from theft. These infrared LEDs have a long life and are durable even in pulse mode applications, making them ideal for intelligent transportation systems such as traffic monitoring, toll collection systems and automatic license plate recognition systems (ANTR).
