Joe is an SCADA expert who is responsible for the process control system of the L/E wastewater treatment plant. The L/E sewage treatment plant uses approximately 35 gateway access points to detect and resolve all equipment and processes within the Profibus network. These gateways collect and converge various internal, real-time data from the Profibus network on the factory floor. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of sporadic problems in the existing network management, leading to high risks for fully automated process control. Joe used some gateway products that had problems with performance and reliability. Therefore, he did not solve the problem of Profibus network failure simply and effectively. In the process of solving the system failure, Joe had to pass through all the scenes he knew. Obviously, this is time-consuming and incapable of simply and effectively troubleshooting solutions.
Strategy and Tactics: Put the Product in a Real World Test
Joe began to study competitive products from other industry leaders and looked for something that could replace the plant in a dangerous location.
