Shown is a low offset, low drift thermocouple measurement loop circuit with diode cold junction compensation. The OPA277 forms a non-inverting amplifier that utilizes the high input impedance characteristics of the non-inverting amplifier to reduce thermocouple offset and loop drift. The 50Ω potentiometer is used for calibration. The amplifier's non-inverting input is biased so that the output current of the K-type thermocouple in the operating temperature range is 4-20mA.
