According to informed sources, Apple Inc. is negotiating with a television program production company and plans to launch a select TV channel package service this fall. It will bundle 25 TV channels including ABC and Fox, and will be compatible with Apple TV and other Apple devices.
It is reported that because Apple and NBC Universal's parent company Comcast disagree, Apple's plan does not cover NBC Universal's major channels. An industry executive believes that it would be difficult for Apple to develop an Internet TV business without NBC Universal's TV channels. Informed sources said that the company plans to announce this new service in June this year, and officially released in September.
