At the terminal division of China Mobile Global Partner Conference, Ma Jingxin, deputy general manager of China Mobile Terminal Corporation, announced the status of China Mobile's models and sales. From January to October, China Mobile's 4G market TOP10 brands are Apple, Xiaomi, vivo, Huawei, OPPO and Samsung, Coolpad, Lenovo, Meizu and Jinli.
Ma Jingxin revealed that China Mobile's 4G sales reached 256 million in the first ten months of this year, accounting for 85% of the overall 4G market. From January to October 2015, China Mobile's 4G market TOP10 brands are Apple, Xiaomi, vivo, Huawei, OPPO and Samsung, Coolpad, Lenovo, Meizu and Jinli.
China Mobile's 4G market has a market share of 47% for the 700-2000 yuan, 36% for the 2,000 yuan, and 17% for the 700 yuan.
For the 2016 market capacity, Ma Jingxin said that due to the downward pressure on the macro economy and the adjustment of operators' policies, the growth rate of 4G replacement in 2016 slowed down. The overall market is mainly based on stocks, and the overall market capacity is expected to be 500 million. China Mobile hopes to achieve a sales volume of 330 million for 4G mobile phones and 600 models.
In terms of price, China Mobile expects 700-2000 yuan as the main price segment, and the estimated share will rise to 48%; the share above 2000 yuan will fall to 31%; the share below 700 yuan will rise to 21%.
Based on the above analysis, China Mobile has customized the terminal management strategy. Ma Jingxin revealed that in 2016, he will focus on supporting five-mode products supporting VoLTE and CA. In order to promote the rapid popularization of VoLTE, the three-mode VoLTE low-end products below 500 yuan will be allowed to enter the warehouse. China Mobile expects VoLTE and CA products to exceed 100 models and sales of nearly 100 million. Moreover, all 4G products that are cooperating in storage are not providing switch 4G functions, and default priority is 4G networks.
It is reported that China Mobile is expected to sell 300 million TD-LTE terminals this year. In 2016, it is expected that the domestic market will be able to sell 330 million TD-LTE terminals.
