In preparation for responding to these new vehicles, and increasing demand for Tesla service centers, the company is trying to expand its service facilities.
Tesla announced that the company will add 100 new service centers and employ 1,400 technical service personnel to increase its global service capabilities by three times. Tesla's remote diagnostic capabilities allow approximately 90% of potential car breakdowns to be identified outside the service center and resolved on the spot. Tesla’s mobile fleet is adding more than 350 service vehicles. These service vehicles can solve many repair problems regardless of where the car is. However, if the vehicle needs to enter the service center, the owner can make an appointment for his car. Tesla claimed that it optimized the maintenance process, improved the work efficiency in the service center by a factor of four, and reduced the space by three times compared with ordinary maintenance facilities.
Although it is necessary to build more Tesla service centers, subcontracting Tesla’s car repairs to independent car shops may be a better move. In January of this year, it was reported that Tesla is working to provide maintenance information and spare parts for Tesla owners. Although this plan is currently only applicable to those living in Massachusetts, it passed the "Maintenance Act" in 2012. . However, after the auto industry organizations, such as the Auto Manufacturers Association, and the Global Automobile Manufacturers Association, agreed that in 2014 they would enter into maintenance agreements with independent service stations and retailers, the law is expected to become a national law in 2018.
Unfortunately, the agreement is not part of the law and cannot be enforced. But if Tesla wants to become a mainstream product, its Model 3 may comply with this agreement, allowing others to help it repair the car. (small)
