The Verge Chinese Station reported on October 4th
If you know only Toyota's various cars and products, then you must not know that Toyota actually has the strength to develop robots. Now, the Kirobo Mini robot, the world's largest car company that was first released at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, has officially confirmed that it will be officially launched next year. This robot costs 39,800 yen (approximately RMB 2,590).
In fact, this Kirobo Mini is a mini version of another Toyota's Kirobo robot, which was Toyota's 2013 robot with the Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata to perform on the International Space Station. The meaning of space on Kirobo is more than just a simple appearance, but it is to achieve a more practical goal. True, Kirobo's purpose is to be able to accompany the astronauts through a long and difficult time in space.
The Kirobo Mini is also a chat robot. Its height is about 10 cm, it has big eyes and Toyota has the logo on its chest. It has a built-in camera, microphone, and Bluetooth, which can be connected to a smartphone. This Kirobo Mini is able to recognize other people's different emotions and react to the owner's emotions and expressions to achieve a chat in different scenarios. When the content of the conversation becomes complicated, it can also be processed according to the cloud to reduce the dead time.
Behind the Kirobo Mini is a voice recognition and communication service called Toyota Center System. For example, when in the car, if the driver suddenly brakes, then the Kirobo Mini can immediately issue a "wonder" and talk with the owner to prevent the driver from driving fatigue and not to sleep.
In addition, Toyota said that the Kirobo Mini can also be used to comfort those widowed old people who have no children, and can ease the psychological pressure on Japan’s elderly people because of the low birth rate. Kirobo Mini can walk like a toddler and imitate the baby's sitting posture to ease the psychological needs of the elderly.
In addition to the need to connect with a smartphone, Kirobo Mini also requires a monthly subscription fee of 300 yen (approximately RMB 20). It is reported that Toyota will make its debut at the CEATEC Tokyo Expo that will be opened this month. (Author: Sam Byford compilation: Human)
