Littelfuse has announced the SP1255P family of low capacitance ESD protection transient suppression diode arrays (SPAs) designed to provide best-in-class ESD protection for current-intensive applications such as fast charging peripherals or power USB. The SP1255P family integrates a three-channel ultra-low capacitance steering diode and a low voltage transient suppression diode to provide maximum anti-static protection for USB data and ID pins in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2. Its dynamic resistance is only 0.3?, which reduces the clamping voltage by up to 23% compared to similar silicon solutions. A high surge current protection device operating at 12V will be used for Vbus protection; this device protects against lightning-fast transients of up to 100A on USB Vbus lines.

Typical applications for the SP1255P series include ESD protection for smartphones, tablets and other portable electronics.
