The AGV trolley is a transport vehicle that is equipped with electromagnetic or optical automatic guide devices and can travel along a prescribed guide route and has safety protection and various transfer functions. As an unmanned industrial truck, high-speed, high-efficiency and accurate positioning is very important for the AGV trolley transportation system.
RFID has advantages such as non-contact, non-line-of-sight. The use of RFID to control the positioning of AGV trolleys is not only simple in structure but also low in cost compared to other positioning methods (inertial positioning, ultrasonic positioning, laser positioning, etc.), and it is easier to implement and accurately position.

RFID radio frequency identification is a non-contact automatic identification technology. It automatically identifies target objects and obtains relevant data through radio frequency signals. Combining these characteristics of RFID, the significance and value of RFID location technology integration in AGV are very large.


1. How RFID is used in AGV


AGV is controlled by PLC. The car carries a wireless communication system. It can communicate with the host computer wirelessly, report its own operation position and working status, execute the instructions of the host computer, and transfer the work cycle and workload to the host computer in time;


AGV reads the ground markings through RFID and makes corresponding actions (changes in speed, steering, positioning and parking, etc.);


PLC can not only control the car according to a preset program, but also upload the data to the host computer, and then control the car according to the instructions of the host computer.



2. Advantages of long-range high-speed RFID positioning technology


(1) Strong penetrability, easy to penetrate the object to read the label, does not affect the reading distance;
(2) Strong anti-interference, other frequency band technologies are vulnerable to environmental humidity, noise, oil, electromagnetic fields, strong vibration and other factors, easy to read the card instability leading to data loss or read labels, morning AGV card reader It is not easy to be interfered, it is very good to avoid these problems; (3) The reading distance is moderate and stable. To achieve accurate parking, the AGV sensor (ie, card reader) must have a stable and reasonable reading distance. Too close reading means that the AGV chassis has to be made very low. This will undoubtedly increase the failure rate of the equipment. Reading too far will mean that the positioning is inaccurate. The robot has not yet arrived at the site but has read the label and parked, and Chenkong AGV reads. The card reader solves this kind of problem very well, CK-G06 can control accurately in 5-10cm, for some special requirements scene, the reading distance can also be set to control to 15-20cm. (4) The reading speed is fast, and the reading speed of the label is stable to more than 2 m/s. When the AGV is accelerating, reading the tag will not result in the case where the ordinary RFID reader cannot read the electronic tag.
