Tesla releases map of super charging station and will expand North America, Europe and China charging market. According to foreign media reports, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, has fulfilled his promise and the company has launched The Super Charge Station Network updates the map to show the expansion plan for the Supercharger Network from 2018 to 2019.
Tesla’s new map shows that most of the supercharger stations will be built in North America, Europe, and China. Tesla currently has 1,260 supercharged stations in the United States, with more than 9,800 worldwide.
Earlier this month, the automotive website Electrok reported that Tesla's supercharged station network has grown at a record rate in 2018. Musk also stated that there are thousands of super charging stations where Tesla is building or is in the permit construction phase.
With Tesla launching a new map, we have a better understanding of when and where these new supercharging stations will be put into use.
The new map adopts a new user interface, which at first glance may seem a little deceptive, because all the supercharge stations appear red when zooming out of the map. On the previous old map, the red sign indicates that these super charging stations have been built and put into use.
However, after the map is enlarged, you will see the same user interface as before, where the gray represents the supercharger station that is planned to be built, and the red represents the charging station that is being used.
Here is a map of the northeastern United States and several eastern Canadian provinces. When you click on the grey supercharger station, you can get more detailed information, such as when the site will be put into use.
Tesla also changed the time frame for the new charging station to be put into use. Now it no longer says "coming soon", but it is specific to "summer 2018", "falling 2018" or "2019".
In Canada, Tesla slightly updated its route across Canada, but still could not reach Newfoundland all the way.
Of Tesla's two most popular Canadian interns, one became a "professional problem solver." He will propose to Musk to add charging stations during the construction process.
